Frequently Asked Questions

Tailte Éireann

Who is Tailte Éireann?

A new government body called Tailte Éireann will be formed when the Property Registration Authority (PRA), Valuation Office (VO) and Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) are merged on the 1st of March 2023. This means you'll see a new name on your maps.

For more information please see the Tailte Éireann website here

What does this mean for our customers?

Our customers will start seeing our new name from the 1st March. We will have several maps with a dual brand of OSi and Tailte Éireann appear on our maps as we phase out the OSi brand. The merger will have no negative impact on the quality and output of our maps.

What is 3D secure?

3D secure is a fraud prevention system that protects you from unauthorised online use of your credit/debit cards.

When you purchase goods or services online, you may be prompted to enter a one-time passcode which will be sent to your mobile phone by text message, to authorise the transaction and confirm that the card is yours.

If you do not get a text, please contact your bank for further details on getting set up for 3D secure

One of the requirements to verify your identity is ensuring that your billing address is correct. As a result we have updated the way we store your address to comply with this. If you are a returning customer with an account please review your address before making a purchase.

You have a set amount of time and a number of attempts to enter the passcode correctly. If you do not enter the passcode correctly, you; will be unable to complete your online purchase.

If this happens you will be redirected to the shopping cart and given a reason for the failure of payment.

Is it safe to give my credit card and personal details online?

You can tell that a browser is secure in a couple different ways: In a non-secure mode, the web site address begins with "http://". In a secure mode, the address should begin with "https://" - that "s" stands for "secure". You will notice yourself entering a secured zone after you enter in your billing information when placing an order.

How do I cancel, change or return my order?

Any cancellations, change requests or returns must be made via our customer services, they can be contacted at custserv@tailte.ie or on +353-1-8606778 quoting your order number.
